Religion
- A Personal View
Warning -
if you are a religious person I would like to
you to leave this page now - these are my
personal observations and views on modern but
mainly Western Religions and they are not for
the faint hearted.
I chose
to be born into a family of mixed religions though
all lapsed. My Mother was of Catholic
background and my Father of undetermined
religious origins - I think Anglican.
I was
sent to a Catholic School from the age of 5
until mid High School (here in Australia that
would be about 6 - 7 years). I was told more
times that I care to remember that I was going
to burn in hell because I had the audacity to
question some of the dogma of the Catholic
Religion - For crying out loud I was 6 years
old. I spent the next 30 years waiting for
the bloody axe to fall...... I would even hide
under the bed on Good Friday waiting for the
bloody world to end.
I knew
about Atlantis, Lemuria and all other so called
myths.
I craved other peoples understanding of Arthur,
Camelot, Dragons and the Fae as well as
other so called mythical creatures.
I was a
child who knew friends not of this world from
the very beginnings of my memory - I could
not understand how other people could not see or
hear these friends...... I could not/ cannot
understand how humans could or can believe that
they were/are the only beings in this or any
other universe. The sheer arrogance
most European descendants have - okay lets call
it like it is -White
Folks,
(of which I am one in this lifetime) that they are the be
all to end all boggles my mind.
I cannot
get my head around someone that says believe in
my God or Die - and lets face it
people that is what the Catholic/Christian
Churches have done to millions for the last
2000+ years. Need I remind you of The
Inquisition, Joan of Arc, The Salem Witch Hunts,
the decimation of the Native American,
Australian Aboriginal, The Aztec/Toltec Indians
and anyone else that stood in the way of the
greed generated by a megalomaniac, woman hating
male - named Simon who by the way later became
Saint Peter.
Lets
think about the Templar Knights (I have always
had one huge soft spot for these guys - I think
that somewhere along the way I spent a lifetime
as one of them *s*) - the
warrior monks sent to guard the holy city of
Jerusalem - The Popes own Secret Service/
CIA - who
were slaughtered by their very own boss and a
French King who were both as jealous and greedy as spoilt
children.
This is
the beginning of my rantings over the next
-
well how ever long it takes to get this stuff
out of my system
We are a
planet on the verge of self destruction - we as
a species need to get it together and realize
that we, all of us put our pants on one leg at a
time. Please look around and see the devastation
that we are reeking on our planet and each
other.................. every conflict on this
planet at this time has less than 5 degrees of separation from religion
I do not
follow any religion but if I did it would be
Wicca as their first law is:
Harm
no one.
